About Moira Ashleigh
Moira Ashleigh is the founder and lead designer for SolsticeSun Design. She combines over fifteen years of electronic industry experience with twelve years of client focused business expertise in public relations and entrepreneurial practices. Moira enjoys the ongoing challenges of working with Internet development for her clients, who range from small art dealers to world wide information management industries.
She also helped to launch MessageFire LLC., a spam filtering company which was recently acquired by MessageGate of Seattle. As a partner she focused on design, usability and keeping the focus on the end user.
Before launching her own design business, Moira worked for the Strategy and Technology Group of USWeb, which focused on using the technology of the internet to help create better communication and information flow among the widespread affiliate practices. She also worked with the USWeb Boston Practice in the development team on the release of an Ocean Spray web initiative.
Moira worked for Utopia Inc., prior to its acquisition by USWeb, where she was an integral part of several development teams, working to ensure timely completion of varied projects for customers such as TJX, Security Dynamics, Cahner's Publishing, and Salem Five. She also did all of the final editing and production for "Made In China" Utopia's Digital Expedition. While working at Utopia Inc. she designed and maintained two websites in her spare time, http://www.lpma.org and http://www.earthspirit.com.
Previous to her work with Utopia, Moira was a small business owner in the greater Boston area. Earlier she worked for the Marriott Corporation and for the Foxboro Company in the marketing and customer service fields. She has a Masters in Theater from Emerson College, Boston, MA, where she was also a member of the faculty. While there, she worked with the college faculty to write and stage performance vignettes which explored the challenges of integrating the disabled into the work force. This touring production, "Working With Disability" was presented throughout Massachusetts, including a performance for the Governor at the Massachusetts State House.
